A Kelty man who assaulted his former partner has been sentenced to 100 hours of unpaid work.
Dunfermline Sheriff Court heard that Allan Shields was already on a community payback order which includes engagement in a domestic abuse group work programme.
Shields, 37, of Oak Street, Kelty, previously admitted that on November 22, 2017 at St Leonard's Street, Dunfermline, he assaulted his former partner by seizing her by the body, repeatedly pushing her and causing her to fall to the ground.
Defence solicitor Aime Allan stated her client is engaged with the current community payback order and that alcohol problems contributed to this offence.
She mentioned, "He accepts that it is not an excuse for his behaviour but it provides an explanation," and added, "The relationship has ended because of this incident."
