WARWICK MAN ALEXANDER BARKER SENTENCED TO 56 MONTHS FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND ASSAULTS
A 34-year-old man from Warwick has been sentenced to four years and eight months in prison after assaulting his former partner and attacking two other individuals by stamping on their heads.
Additionally, Alexander Barker received an indefinite restraining order protecting all three victims.
Barker's arrest in March followed an incident during which he stepped on a man's head during a dispute over money; this assault caused facial fractures requiring a metal plate for repair.
He was taken into custody again after attacking a woman in her twenties at his ex-partner’s residence, where he kicked her in the stomach and stamped on her head, leaving a head wound that necessitated hospital treatment.
Further investigations revealed that Barker had also assaulted his ex-partner twice in April.
One episode involved him losing control and kicking a door off its hinges, which struck her and rendered her unconscious.
In another, he choked her, resulting in bruising around her throat.
At Warwick Crown Court on Friday, November 12, Barker pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including causing grievous bodily harm, causing actual bodily harm, and common assault, resulting in his prison sentence and restraining order.
