PREDATOR TEACHER JAILED FOR GROOMING AND SEXUAL ASSAULT OF TEENAGE BOYS
A supply teacher named Alejandro Castillo has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after he lured a group of teenage boys to his home under the pretense of a 'party' and subsequently sexually assaulted one of them and attempted to attack another.Castillo, who was 48 years old at the time, met the boys at Wakefield Bus Station on November 12 of the previous year.
Prosecutors revealed that he provided the boys with beer, gave one money to buy more, and described the gathering as a 'party.' Although nothing happened on the first night, Castillo invited the boys back the following day, where he exploited their trust and preyed on two of them.
During the incident, he supplied drink to the boys, one of whom drank until he passed out and was found very unwell, even waking up in Castillo's bed with Castillo attempting to perform sexual activity.
Another boy entered the bedroom and found them in bed, both naked, with Castillo attempting to kiss another victim.
Castillo denied sexual activity during police questioning but later pleaded guilty to sexual assault and attempted sexual assault when faced with cross-examination.
His victims, aged 16 and 18, suffered significant psychological harm, with one saying they struggle with sleep, panic attacks, nightmares, and feelings of shame, and the other describing a life affected by social restrictions and distressing social services involvement.
Castillo has previous convictions, including fraud, assault, and being drunk and disorderly.
The court heard that Castillo moved to the UK from Mexico to train as a teacher and has suffered personal tragedies, including the murder of his niece and nephew.
Court authorities noted Castillo's risk to the public, and he was sentenced to 18 months with a 10-year restraining order, sexual harm prevention order, and registration as a sex offender for ten years.
He was also banned from working with children.
