SALTCOATS MAN JAILED FOR SMASHING TV AND ATTACKING POLICE OFFICERS
A MAN smashed a TV during a domestic incident before struggling with cops and kicking a police vehicle.According to court records, Alan Jones, 45, admitted charges of threatening behaviour and resisting arrest during an incident on December 9 last year at his address in Canal View, Saltcoats, as well as at the police station.
The court papers state that Jones caused his partner fear and alarm by repeatedly shouting, swearing, and making abusive and offensive remarks to her.
He also threw household items, causing damage, and seized a television from the room before smashing it on the floor.
He faced further allegations involving abuse of a partner or ex-partner, with the charge being aggravated by this involvement.
Jones admitted to resisting arrest by pulling his arms away from constables, struggling violently, and attempting to kick two officers.
Moreover, he caused additional fear and alarm at Saltcoats Police Station, located on Canal Street, by acting aggressively toward officers, shouting and swearing repeatedly, and kicking a police vehicle.
At Kilmarnock Sheriff Court earlier this month, Jones received a community payback order and was ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work.
