ARMY SHOCK — SCOTTISH SOLDIER CHARGED WITH STRING OF CHILD SEX OFFENCES
A soldier from Scotland has been charged with multiple alleged child sex offences under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009.Ethan Strachan, from Saltcoats, has been charged with a series of offences relating to alleged interactions with a child aged between 13 and 16.
The charges include: Causing an older child (13–16) to participate in sexual activity (Section 31) Causing an older child to look at a sexual image (Section 33) Communicating indecently with an older child (Section 34) Strachan was taken to Elgin Police Station following the charges being brought and has since been released on a police undertaking.
He is expected to appear in court at a later date.
No plea has yet been entered, and the case will proceed through the Scottish courts.
As with all criminal proceedings, the accused is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
