A man responsible for years of sexual and physical abuse toward his victim has been sentenced to prison.
He admitted to multiple charges, including rape.
Alan Earwaker, aged 35 and from Haydock, was handed a jail term on Monday (January 12) after being found guilty of the crimes.
In addition to his nine-year prison sentence, he received an indefinite restraining order against the victim and an ongoing notification requirement.
After the sentencing, Detective Inspector Greame Kehoe commented: “Earwaker engaged in abuse, threats, stalking, and sexual assault against his victim.
Despite the severity of his offences, she demonstrated incredible bravery by reporting the incidents to police and providing detailed statements that contributed to his conviction.
I want to acknowledge the resilience and dignity of the victim throughout this process.
This case highlights the seriousness with which these offences are treated and demonstrates Merseyside Police’s commitment to safeguarding individuals from violence and sexual abuse.”
