VIOLENT EX-CON AND PARTNER SENTENCED FOR HOME INVASION AND ASSAULT
Aiden Pinder, aged 26, from Princess House, Scunthorpe, and Jade Dodds, aged 28, of Grosvenor Street South, faced court after a violent incident where Pinder forcibly entered his ex-girlfriend's home with a crowbar and hammer in the early hours, causing her to fear she would die.During the attack, Pinder and Dodds assaulted her in a revenge assault, dragging her to the floor, with Dodds kicking her in the face and pulling her by her hair.
The victim, 23, was so frightened she slept fully dressed and called 999.
Pinder, who had a history of 43 previous offenses including burglary, robbery, and assault, had previously been in a relationship with the victim and shared three children with her.
The court heard that he later started a relationship with Dodds, which increased tensions.
When she arrived at her home, she heard smashing glass at around 1am, and Pinder broke in using a crowbar and hammer.
Dodds was with him, and the woman managed to call for help.
During the violence, she was bitten and kicked by both, lost consciousness momentarily, and was left with bruises but no serious injuries and discharged herself from hospital later.
She feared Pinder might return.
Pinder was convicted of burglary, assault causing actual bodily harm, and damaging household items and sentenced to three years in prison.
Dodds, also sentenced to three years, had convictions for robbery and handling stolen goods and expressed remorse, attributing her behavior to intoxication and addiction.
The judge described the attack as ‘a desperately serious matter,’ with Pinder and Dodds smiling and shouting in court as they were sentenced, with Dodds waving and shouting to her supporters.
