2012: BROMSGROVE MAN JAILED FOR BREAKING COURT ORDERS
A BROMSGROVE man who beat up his ex-wife and a new girlfriend has been jailed for 16 months at Worcester Crown Court.Adrian Sharp was sent for sentence by magistrates for breaking a non-molestation order, and the terms of a suspended sentence order.
He was told by Recorder Nicolas Cartwright: "Your problem is to do with drink and that you are violent towards your partners." Sharp, 33, of Exmoor Drive, Pennine Road, was said by prosecutor Jackie Rogers to have broken court orders made to protect his ex-wife Lucy Sharp, of Cobham Drive, Bromsgrove.
One of them forbade him entering Cobham Drive but he was seen there earlier this year by a neighbour when he said he intended to speak to his two daughters.
Diljit Bahada, defending, said Sharp had intended to visit a friend in the road to discuss the sale of his car.
He also thought that the molestation order had expired last year.
Miss Rogers said Sharp had convictions for attacking his ex-wife and a new partner Lorraine Whitney.
Mrs Sharp had been repeatedly punched and strangled after being dragged through the house.
Miss Whitney had been grabbed by the throat and was only released when her dog intervened.
Recorder Cartwright read to the court a statement from Mrs Sharp in which she appealed for her family to be able to have a proper life.
She constantly went round the house to make sure all the doors were locked.
"We are going to feel like prisoners in our own home," she said.
Jailing Sharp, Recorder Cartwright added the non-molestation order would continue indefinitely.
