HALIFAX MAN JAILED FOR MANSLAUGHTER OF GIRLFRIEND
Adrian Muir, a 51-year-old resident of Halifax, was found guilty of manslaughter in the case of Pamela Jackson, a 55-year-old woman from Chester-le-Street, County Durham. He received an 18-year prison sentence.
During the trial, it was revealed that Muir had fractured Ms Jackson’s skull during an argument before traveling approximately 120 miles to dispose of her body in a shallow grave located on the moors near Halifax.
The victim’s family voiced their sense of injustice, insisting that Ms Jackson was clear about who was responsible for her death.
Although Muir argued in court that he was not present when the death occurred and did not participate in her burial, forensic evidence such as blood traces in his vehicle and soil samples linking him to the burial site confirmed his involvement.
The police characterized his conduct as driven by cowardice, highlighting his persistent lack of remorse despite substantial forensic and communication evidence connecting him to the crime.
