CREWE MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO CHILD INJURY IN SHOCKING ABUSE CASE
Adam Reeves, aged 31 and from Mayfield Mews in Crewe, has admitted to intentionally injuring an eight-week-old baby.
The incident was uncovered after Reeves messaged the child's mother on Christmas Eve in 2021, raising concerns that the infant was not feeding appropriately and appeared drowsy.
He then contacted emergency services and took the baby to Leighton Hospital, where medical staff found the infant struggling to breathe.
Evidence showed the child had sustained serious injuries, including fractured ribs, a broken pelvis, and bruises all over the body.
Detective Constable Stacey Thompson described the case as particularly distressing and difficult, expressing gratitude to the officers who helped secure justice for the young victim and his family.
Reeves pleaded guilty to the charge of causing injury to a child during a court session at Chester Crown Court on 18 March.
The sentencing is set for 2 May.
As a consequence, Reeves has been categorized as a child abuser.
