CHELMSFORD MAN JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AFTER CCTV EVIDENCE
A man who sexually assaulted a woman in Chelmsford has been put behind bars.Adam Johnson, 55, was identified by a local police officer in Chelmsford after the assault in Cornhill on March 13 last year was caught on CCTV.
Johnson was spotted in a shop in Broomfield Road two days later and officers attended and arrested him.
He was also arrested on suspicion of a sexual assault which took place on a bus between Chelmsford and Maldon on October 7 the previous year.
Johnson, of Baxters, Danbury, was later charged with two counts of sexual assault.
He admitted the charges at Chelmsford Crown Court on July 11.
He was jailed at the same court on August 26 for two years and made subject to a five-year sexual harm prevention order.
He has also been put on the Sex Offenders’ Register for 10 years Sergeant Graham Thomas, from the Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "I want to pay tribute to the tenacity and dedication of the officer in the case, PC Chris Cleverley, who’s tireless work has seen Johnson put behind bars."
