HEATON NORRIS SEX OFFENDER JAILED FOR CHILD ABUSE AND INDECENT IMAGES
A registered sex offender has been jailed again after detectives caught him looking at vile indecent images of children, police said today.Adam Howe, 38, of Love Lane in Heaton Norris, pleaded guilty to a series of charges.
They included failing to comply with sex offender requirements and breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order imposed after a previous conviction.
Detectives, speaking after a sentencing hearing, called Howe a 'deliberate and persistent predator who posed a clear risk to children'.
The North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU) said detectives from its Internet Abuse Team 'uncovered further offending' in September last year during an ongoing investigation.
A mobile phone was seized for digital examination, which revealed frequent contact between Howe and another individual over 'an extended period', police said.
Evidence showed that they would occasionally meet in person to engage in sexual activity while viewing indecent images of children.
Further analysis of their communications identified the distribution of indecent images of children, including material depicting the sexual abuse of a child.
On 18 September 2025, Howe was arrested and charged.
Howe pleaded guilty to three charges.
He admitted distribution of indecent images, breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order and failing to comply with sex offender requirements.
He was jailed by a judge at Manchester Crown Court last week for four years and six months, with an extended licence period of nine years and six months.
Detective Inspector Jon Weir, from the NWROCU, said: "Howe knew full well that he was breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order the moment he began sharing indecent images of children with someone else.
That knowledge did not deter him.
Howe is a deliberate and persistent predator who posed a clear risk to children in our communities." "The outcome reflects the determination, commitment and professionalism of our team to identify dangerous individuals and bring them to justice.
If you have experienced any form of sexual abuse, or if you know of a child who is being abused, please come forward and report it to the police."
