BOLTON MAN JAILED FOR HORRIFIC CHILD ABUSE AND SEXUAL OFFENCES
Adam Degney, a 30-year-old resident of Bolton, has been found guilty of multiple serious crimes involving the abuse of both a young girl and an adult woman.The young girl endured a harrowing period of abuse, with allegations that Degney raped her starting from age six and continuing until she was 13.
He reportedly subjected her to repeated abuse and recorded videos of his actions.
During investigations, authorities discovered a collection of sexual abuse images and videos on his devices; some files had been deleted, but were recovered during the case.
A different woman also came forward, claiming she was raped by Degney on several occasions, including instances where she was sleeping.
He admitted to creating indecent images of children and engaging in voyeurism.
Degney pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including three counts of child rape, sexual assault of a minor, sexual activity with a child, producing indecent images, and voyeuristic acts.
He was sentenced by Bolton Crown Court to 15 years in prison and designated to be on the sex offenders register for life.
Detective Constable Stephen Wildman described Degney’s conduct as "horrific" and expressed satisfaction that he is now incarcerated.
The crimes came to light in August 2023 after the young girl confided in someone, leading police to uncover videos documenting the abuse—materials that were described as deeply disturbing and indicative of significant emotional and physical trauma inflicted on the victims.
