LEICESTER STALKER JAILED FOR VILE ABUSE AND IMAGE SHARING
A stalker who subjected a Leicester woman to “some of the worst” abuse police have seen has been jailed.Abdul Al-Shajahan published private photos of the woman on explicit websites and social media platforms in 2021 and 2022.
Letters were also sent to the victim’s home address, as well as to her family members, threatening to disclose further images.
Police said that one of the letters included a link to one of the websites where the photos had been published.
The woman contacted several authorities in 2021 and 2022 which led to specialist work being undertaken by officers from Leicester Police’s Domestic Abuse Investigation Unit (DAIU).
They traced the digital activity back to Al-Shajahan.
He was arrested in May 2022 at his London home, where several digital devices were recovered, including a list of Leicester street names and an account linked to an explicit website.
During police questioning, he initially denied any wrongdoing before answering “no comment.” Al-Shajahan pleaded guilty to stalking and disclosing/threatening to disclose private sexual images at Leicester Crown Court on Thursday, January 22.
He was sentenced to five years and four months in prison on Thursday, February 26, and is subject to a 10-year restraining order against the victim.
