DIANE YOUDALE FROM LONDON AND STOCKTON ON TEES ADMITS TO ASSAULTING EX-WIFE IN TOXIC RELATIONSHIP
Diane Youdale, widely recognized for her role as Jet on the popular 1990s television series 'Gladiators', has come forward with a candid admission regarding a violent incident involving her former wife, Zoe Gilbert. The incident took place amidst a tumultuous relationship that Youdale described as intensely toxic and emotionally draining.During a recent interview, Youdale recounted how her emotions overwhelmed her during a heated argument with Gilbert. She revealed that in a moment of anger, she physically pressed down on Gilbert’s chest three times and told her to stop, an act that she now describes as a serious escalation. The confrontation was severe enough to attract police intervention, with officers arriving at the scene and escorting Youdale away. This incident marked a dark chapter in their relationship, which Youdale characterized as profoundly damaging, leaving her feeling despondent and contemplating ending her own life. She also disclosed that the emotional toll contributed to her developing issues with alcohol.
Despite her admission of violence, Youdale emphasized that she would only resort to physical action in self-defense or if she believed someone was attacking a minor or an animal. She clarified that her final altercation with Gilbert was the culmination of a series of conflicts that defined their turbulent relationship. The pair later appeared together on ITV’s Lorraine program, where they shared the story of their brief marriage. Their relationship reportedly began after a chance meeting in a Tesco supermarket car park and lasted less than a year.
Youdale’s personal history includes multiple marriages and relationships, notably with TV executive George Mayhew and fellow Gladiator James Crossley. Her career with 'Gladiators' ended in 1996 due to a neck injury, after which she transitioned into various roles including fitness instructing, psychotherapy, and television presenting. Her story sheds light on the complex and often painful realities behind the public persona of a former television star from London and Stockton on Tees.
