HALIFAX MAN SENTENCED TO LIFE FOR BRUTALLY MURDERING WIFE
A man named Zbigniew Lasek, aged 36, has been convicted of murdering his wife, Monika Lasek, in Halifax.
The court heard that on November 26, Monika suffered extensive, life-threatening injuries from a severe stabbing during a brutal attack at their home on Solstice Way.
Although Lasek denied committing the murder, he was found guilty by Bradford Crown Court.
Judge David Hatton QC sentenced him to life imprisonment, setting a minimum term of 24 years before parole eligibility.
The court noted that the attack reflected a history of violence and abusive behavior from Lasek, who showed no mercy in the assault.
It was also pointed out that Lasek’s emotional display during his trial, specifically his tears, appeared self-oriented.
After the incident, Lasek pretended to be injured and attempted to hang himself.
The court described the attack as particularly savage, involving multiple severe and damaging wounds aimed at Monika.
The investigation revealed that she wanted him to leave their home after their relationship fell apart roughly six months earlier.
The case underscored the impact on their three children, who were left grieving and devastated by the loss of their mother.
