NOTTINGHAM MAN JAILED FOR BRUTAL RAPE OF TEENAGE RUNAWAY
A 64-year-old man from Nottingham named Winston Virtue was convicted of the sexual assault of a teenage girl who had previously run away from home.
The assault was notably aggressive, with the victim reporting that her entire body felt numb afterward.
She recounted that Virtue had administered drinks and drugs before forcibly engaging in sexual activity, during which she hit her head against a radiator.
The young woman described feeling shattered and deeply traumatized by the incident, noting that she continued to sense his touch and the violence involved even after the assault.
Virtue denied committing the offence, forcing her to relive her trauma throughout the trial at Nottingham Crown Court.
Although he had no previous convictions, the court found him guilty of rape and sentenced him to 11 years in prison.
Judge Mark Watson highlighted that Virtue exploited a vulnerable, underage girl, acknowledging his awareness of her youth.
Alongside the custodial sentence, Virtue was ordered to register as a sex offender for life and was subjected to a lifetime sexual harm prevention order.
