WILLIAM MCGREGOR REMANDED IN CUSTODY AFTER FENCE POST ATTACK
A 35-year-old man named William McGregor was remanded in custody after an incident where he threatened and behaved aggressively towards his partner at their home in Ancaster Way, Muthill. He notably threw a wooden fence post through the window of the living room while his partner was inside, which posed a significant danger and risk of injury.
McGregor was accused of adopting an aggressive demeanor, demanding entry, kicking the door, and smashing a window with a plant pot during the incident on December 6, 2021.
He also behaved similarly on March 17 at the same property.
The court heard that he admitted culpably and recklessly throwing a fence post through the window, endangering his partner.
Solicitor Mike Tavendale, defending, highlighted that McGregor had been remanded since the incident and requested bail, noting that his last criminal offence was in 2014, marking a seven-and-a-half-year break from offending.
Sheriff Francis Gill confirmed that due to the nature of the charge, McGregor would be remanded until his sentencing scheduled for April 27.
