BOURNEMOUTH MAN SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABUSE AND DISFIGUREMENT
A man named William Hosking, aged 22, from Columbia Road in Bournemouth, has been sentenced after being convicted of cruelly abusing and permanently disfiguring a young girl. The incident involved Hosking harming a girl who was only 13 years old at the time.
Hosking appeared in Bournemouth Crown Court on May 16, where he received a sentence of five years and three months imprisonment for charges including Actual Bodily Harm (ABH), Grevious Bodily Harm (GBH), and engaging in sexual activity with a minor under 16.
Additionally, he has been mandated to register on the sex offenders register for life.
The prosecution highlighted the disturbing nature of the case, describing Hosking as a possessive individual who took pleasure in inflicting physical pain and severe injuries on the victim.
The court was told that Hosking had inflicted physical harm such as slapping, punching, and dragging the girl, resulting in bleeding, cuts, and permanent scars.
In a statement, the victim expressed her emotional turmoil, saying, "I have lost trust in everyone.
I feel numb, I don't know how to feel anymore.
I hate how much it has changed me, I feel like I am barely holding it together." The case revealed that Hosking had a fascination with perverted sex, as officers found multiple cards from suspected young girls, ceremonial knives, masks, and other related items during his arrest.
The court also noted that Hosking was armed with a knife when officers arrived at his home to arrest him.
Despite the severity of his actions, Hosking's defense suggested he did not intend to cause such harm and believed he was engaging with a girl he thought was 16, not 13.
The judge, Susan Evans KC, described Hosking as a dangerous offender who caused life-changing injuries, leaving the victim permanently disfigured, and said he appeared to derive significant pleasure from inflicting pain.
The police have not released a custody image of Hosking.
