COUPLE JAILED FOR CHILD SEXUAL OFFENCES
A “DEPRAVED” man who sexually abused a baby and got his wife to film it has been jailed for 14 years.Adrian Iordache, from Bournemouth, persuaded his wife Alina to film a 46-second clip of the abuse, claiming it was ‘funny’.
His computer contained thousands of disturbing images of young children along with shocking videos.
An officer investigating the case described the images as ‘some of the worst he’d ever seen,’ a sentiment echoed by a court judge who called them ‘some of the most disturbing material he’d ever had to review.’ Iordache, aged 33, was initially arrested in Bournemouth in March 2022 after Dorset Police received intelligence about his activities.
Authorities seized multiple electronic devices from him, and he admitted to the police that indecent images of children would be found on his computer.
He revealed that he had discovered the images five years earlier and had downloaded more because he ‘liked’ them.
Iordache stated his sexual preference was for girls aged 12 to 13 but denied having sexual interest in children overall.
He also claimed he would never try to contact a child.
He was released on bail until nearly a year later when the results from his devices confirmed the presence of the videos, including one showing him in sexual activity with a baby, recorded by Alina while they were living in the UK.
Another similar video was recorded by her during a trip to Romania.
His devices also contained over 7,000 images classified as Category A, B, and C depicting children between one and 13 years old, along with more than a thousand computer-generated images of children.
Additional extreme pornography material was found, including footage involving sexual acts with a corpse and animals, torture, rape, and ‘snuff movies’.
In April 2023, Adrian and Alina were detained at Luton Airport upon returning from Romania.
During police interviews, Adrian acknowledged the video involving the baby but claimed the footage was ‘not sexual’ and was meant to be ‘funny’.
Both individuals appeared in Bournemouth Crown Court for sentencing on February 6.
Adrian pleaded guilty to multiple charges: causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, making indecent images of children, possessing extreme pornographic images, and possessing prohibited images.
The court highlighted his international offending, with images dating back to 2015 and originating from Greece, Romania, and two locations in the UK.
Defence lawyer Steve Wedd argued that Adrian’s misconduct spanned seven years across three countries and emphasised his efforts for rehabilitation, stating that he was battling a pornography addiction and seeking to address his issues.
The judge described his crimes as representing some of the worst material the authorities had encountered, leading to his 14-year imprisonment sentence.
