COUPLE JAILED FOR CHILD SEXUAL OFFENCES
Adrian Iordache, a resident of Bournemouth, persuaded his wife, Alina, to record a 46-second video of their abusive behavior, claiming it to be humorous.He expressed a preference for girls aged between 12 and 13 but denied having any sexual interest in children.
Adrian also stated that he would never attempt to contact a minor.
He was released on bail, but nearly a year later, authorities retrieved and examined his seized devices.
The investigation revealed a video depicting sexual activity between Adrian and a baby, which was recorded by his wife Alina, 32, while they were living in the UK.
Additionally, another similar video was recorded by Alina during their time in Romania.
In April 2023, both Adrian and Alina were arrested at Luton Airport upon returning from Romania, their home country.
Alina admitted to two charges: causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity and taking indecent photographs of a child.
During the trial, defence lawyer Nick Robinson argued that Alina had been coerced by her husband into filming the abuse, with Adrian threatening to share private photos of her if she refused.
Mr Robinson emphasised that Alina recorded two videos she deeply regrets, expressing remorse and shame.
A character reference from her mother highlighted cultural aspects from Romania, suggesting that wives may be discouraged from speaking out, a point the judge considered.
Judge Jonathan Fuller KC addressed Alina directly, noting that despite her plea, she continued filming Adrian's depraved behaviour, prioritising her and her husband's interests over the well-being of an innocent child.
Alina was sentenced to 30 months in prison and ordered to comply with a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
