In a significant case stemming from Whitehaven, William Cameron, aged 33, has been sentenced to four months in prison after being found guilty of possessing a substantial collection of child pornography.

The investigation that led to his arrest was part of a broader effort targeting a now-defunct United States-based website notorious for hosting and distributing explicit material involving minors.

William Cameron, who resides on Snafell Terrace in Whitehaven, was taken into custody in August of the previous year.

The arrest followed a detailed investigation by American authorities, who discovered that Cameron had accessed the website using his credit card.

The site was under scrutiny for its serious sexual abuse content involving children, and it has since been shut down.

Forensic analysis of Cameron’s personal computer revealed that he had downloaded a total of 87 indecent images depicting minors.

Additionally, financial records showed that Cameron had paid over £60 to access 90 hours of viewing material on the site.
