LLANELLI MAN SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR HARASSMENT AND THREATS AGAINST EX-GIRLFRIEND
A 41-year-old man from Llanelli has been found guilty of harassing his former partner after threatening to pour petrol through her letterbox at the end of their relationship.Wayne Holmes also set up CCTV aimed at her home and sent multiple threatening messages, causing the victim to fear remaining at her residence.
His threats included acts of violence, property damage, and self-harm to manipulate her emotions.
The victim stated that Holmes frequently sent identical threatening texts and WhatsApp messages, and police confirmed he was persistently messaging her and tracking her movements, demonstrating an unwanted obsession.
Holmes was located hiding in an airing cupboard at his home and was detained after the victim contacted authorities on Sunday, November 1.
During his arrest, police found his phone beneath a chest of drawers, despite his claim of losing it.
He faced charges of harassment and appeared in Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Monday, November 2, where he pleaded guilty.
Holmes received a 24-week prison sentence and was given a restraining order against his ex-girlfriend, marking his fifth such order.
Dyfed-Powys Police described Holmes as an 'extremely dangerous offender', noting that he had five restraining orders against five women, and praised the bravery of the victim in coming forward.
Sergeant Ching Yip from the police force commended the officers’ teamwork in arresting Holmes and emphasized the ongoing threat he posed.
