CASE SENT TO CROWN COURT FOLLOWING MAGISTRATES’ HEARING
A defendant has been transferred to the Crown Court for a trial after appearing before a magistrates’ court.Peter Lawson, aged 38 and residing on Swansea Road in Llanelli, attended a magistrates’ hearing on Wednesday, January 8th.
During the session, the court was informed that Lawson faces serious charges that can only be tried in a Crown Court, leading magistrates to decline jurisdiction.
At this stage, no plea was entered by the defendant.
Magistrates decided to keep Lawson in custody until his next court appearance.
The case has now been forwarded to the Crown Court, where additional proceedings will be scheduled in the future.
