Wayne Harrison, a serviceman in the British military affiliated with 45 Commando based in Arbroath, was sentenced to 15 months in prison following his surrender at Perth Prison.
The High Court of Judiciary in Edinburgh dismissed his appeal to reduce his sentence.
Harrison was convicted of a brutal assault on his wife, Lynne Harrison, including slapping, throttling, biting, and battering her head against a wardrobe at RM Condor, Arbroath.
During a harrowing three-hour attack, he also covered her mouth and nose until she lost consciousness.
The court revealed he told his wife he was going to kill her.
Mrs.
Harrison, who still endures hearing impairment from the incident, was seen crying and hurling insults at Sheriff Paterson as her husband was taken away.
Sheriff Peter Paterson imposed the sentence at Arbroath Sheriff Court on April 16 after Wayne Harrison admitted these violent acts.
Following his release, he will be under a six-month supervision.
Harrison’s assault on January 14 of the previous year has left lasting physical and emotional scars on his wife, and he has now been publicly punished for his violent behavior.
