DOG WALK PLEA FOR DUNDEE WOMAN WHO STABBED HER PARTNER
A domestic abuser who stabbed her partner with a knife has been given relaxed curfew hours so she can walk her dog at night.Stevie Masson still protested about her sentence from the dock and was warned she could be sent to prison instead.
Masson – who struck her partner’s thigh with the blade – told the court she walked her dog at 10pm every night and it would soil the carpet if she was not allowed to continue.
Sheriff Elizabeth McFarlane told her the curfew would start at 9pm, two hours later than the standard 7pm rule.
Masson angrily responded: “I have been letting the dog out for its last toilet at 10pm and she’s still doing the toilet on the carpet and it’s not my house.” Sheriff McFarlane said: “She could get rid of the dog.” Solicitor Grant Bruce was advised to speak to Masson after the sheriff warned the only other option was prison.
Masson, 35, from Arbroath, agreed to the terms and was placed on a 9pm to 6am curfew for three months at Dundee Sheriff Court.
Masson had admitted attacking and injuring a man in Provost Square, Brechin, on April 12 this year.
