MAN JAILED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER OF CHILD

A man received an 11-year prison sentence for attempting to murder a young child in Arbroath.

Joshua Coates, aged 25, was handed his sentence at the High Court in Glasgow on Wednesday, 13 May, 2026.

His conviction was secured the previous day, on 12 March, 2026, at the High Court in Dundee.

The police responded to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee at approximately 8 pm on Friday, 4 August, 2023, after a three-month-old girl was brought in with severe head injuries.
