STALKER JAILED AFTER SMASHING INTO WOMAN'S HOME WITH A METAL POLE
A resident of Hatfield who persistently stalked a woman and forcibly entered her residence using a metal pole has received a prison sentence.44-year-old Wayne Brown, residing on Drovers Way, pleaded guilty to stalking the woman from April 14 to 25 this year.
His admissions also included taking her phone, attempting to access her messages, and asking her about her whereabouts and company.
Reports from neighbours indicated that Brown was seen crawling out from beneath a hedge in the victim's backyard on multiple occasions.
On April 25, he forcibly broke into her home by smashing the patio doors with a metal pole and entered her bedroom, seizing her phone as she was attempting to call emergency services.
Brown later returned, breaking another window, as well as damaging her television and Sky box with the same pole.
Hertfordshire police detained him shortly after these incidents.
He stood before St Albans Crown Court on July 31 for sentencing, where he was sentenced to three years and four months in prison.
An indefinite restraining order was also issued to prevent contact after his release.
Detective Constable Natalia Allodi-Robertson of the Domestic Abuse Investigations and Safeguarding Unit (DAISU) remarked: "Wayne Brown is a dangerous individual who caused the victim significant fear over several months." "His actions stalking and invading her home with property damage were driven by jealousy and malice."
