The sentencing took place at St Albans Crown Court on Friday, 2 May, following a thorough investigation and a jury verdict that found him guilty of two grave crimes.Thompson-Mohalland was handed a sentence of eight years and three months for the charge of rape. Additionally, he received a six-year term for assault by penetration, with both sentences to run concurrently. These offenses occurred in the early hours of 15 February 2021, a night when the victim, a woman who knew Thompson-Mohalland, reached out to him seeking a safe place to stay after a night out. She arrived at his residence in Hatfield, expecting shelter and support, but instead, she was subjected to a brutal assault while she was asleep or believed to be asleep.

The lead investigator expressed admiration for the victim’s courage in coming forward and supporting the case. “Thompson-Mohalland exploited someone who trusted him,” they stated. “His actions have caused profound harm, and this sentence reflects the gravity of what he did.”
Furthermore, the court confirmed that Thompson-Mohalland will be registered on the Sex Offenders Register, where he will remain for a significant period, ensuring ongoing monitoring and public safety. Authorities continue to emphasize that consent is paramount in all sexual encounters and that victims of sexual violence should not feel shame or blame themselves.
