BABYSITTERS JAILED FOR BABY RAPE OF 12 WEEK OLD BABY GIRL
Two individuals responsible for heinous crimes have been sentenced in connection with the assault of a 12-week-old baby girl and the distribution of related images.Alan Webster, aged 40 and from Hatfield, and his partner Tanya French, aged 19, also from Hatfield, pleaded guilty to charges of rape and producing indecent images.
Webster was handed a life imprisonment term at St Albans Crown Court, while French received a five-year custodial sentence.
Authorities were prompted to act after Webster’s online activities led to the discovery of 7,000 indecent images.
The mother of the infant was unaware of the abuse until investigators found photographic evidence at Webster’s home, which documented the crimes.
The presiding judge, Findlay Baker, highlighted the gravity of these offenses, remarking, 'The offences were committed against the most vulnerable victim – a little baby,' and adding, 'There are no words to express the abhorrence such offending generates.' Regarding French’s sentencing, the judge noted her complicity, stating, 'You did not shrink away from the acts in which you joined, but looked forward to them,' yet acknowledged her as a victim under Webster’s harmful influence, which led her to be 'somewhat corrupted.' Both defendants admitted to multiple charges, including rape, indecent assault, allowing indecent images of children, and possession of child abuse images.
Webster additionally pleaded guilty to a separate count of indecent assault involving a 14-year-old girl and other related offences involving child abuse images.
