MIDDLETON MAN PLEADS GUILTY AFTER CHILD ONLINE SAFETY TEAM
Walter Stevens, from Leeds, has pleaded guilty to a sexual offence following a sting operation by the Child Online Safety Team (COST).At a hearing on 12 September 2025 at Leeds Magistrates’ Court, Stevens was sentenced to: 18-month Community Order 25-day Rehabilitation Activity Requirement (RAR) 60-day Curfew (10 pm – 6 am) Court fines and costs The court confirmed that Stevens is no longer subject to bail conditions, and the case is now concluded.
The sting by COST led to his arrest after he was caught attempting to engage in inappropriate communication online.
