WOMAN JAILED FOR BRUTAL STABBING LEAVING PARTNER WITH PERMANENT SCARS
A woman named Natasha Allen was convicted of wounding her girlfriend with a large kitchen knife in a violent and unprovoked attack that resulted in permanent and irreversible facial scarring. The incident occurred on July 7 last year at her flat in Middleton, near Manchester.
During the assault, Allen stabbed her partner to the right side of her body, then slashed at her head and dragged the knife down her face, causing a deep wound from her forehead to the corner of her mouth.
The victim was left with a large, 15cm wound, and described feeling "ugly" and not the same "pretty, bubbly young lady" she once was.
Allen's actions were described as deliberate and spontaneous, with the court hearing that she had previous convictions for violence, assault, and racially aggravated offence.
She was found guilty of section 18 wounding following a trial at Manchester Crown Court and was sentenced to seven-and-a-half years in prison.
Furthermore, she was made subject of a restraining order banning her from contacting her ex-partner indefinitely.
The court noted her impulsivity, difficult childhood, and remorse, with Allen writing a letter to the court admitting she was "ashamed" of her actions.
The victim detailed years of controlling and manipulative abuse, constant fear, and emotional trauma resulting from the relationship, which also involved alcohol abuse and night terrors.
The court emphasized that her face now bears permanent scars and her actions on that day were 'deliberate,' highlighting the severity of the assault.
