VICTOR TSAMO FROM LEAMINGTON JAILED FOR RAPE AND VOYEURISM AFTER SHOCKING CRIME
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Leamington, Victor Tsamo, aged 33, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term following his conviction for a brutal sexual assault and voyeurism.The incident, which took place on August 27, 2022, involved Tsamo luring a woman away from her friends after a night out at a local bar, and then subjecting her to a heinous attack in the backseat of his vehicle.
According to court records and evidence presented during the trial at Warwick Crown Court, Tsamo was seen on CCTV footage watching the woman intently while she was socializing with her friends inside the nightclub.
The footage also captured him following her as she left the premises, indicating premeditation and intent.
Witnesses confirmed seeing Tsamo carrying the woman to his car, which was parked nearby, and then driving her to a secluded area where the assault occurred.
The victim was unaware of the assault until she awoke in the backseat of Tsamo’s car outside her residence.
Following the attack, Tsamo approached her and attempted to manipulate her by asking her out on a date.
When she refused, he shockingly claimed that he had just had sex with her and even showed her a video recording of the assault, further compounding the trauma she experienced.
During police investigations, Tsamo admitted to having sex with the woman but insisted that it was consensual.
He also acknowledged taking a video of the encounter, claiming that she had agreed to it.
However, the evidence against him was overwhelming.
The jury found him guilty of rape and voyeurism, supported by witness testimonies from the victim’s friends, nightclub staff, and the CCTV footage that clearly depicted his actions.
On May 11, 2023, Tsamo was sentenced at Warwick Crown Court to 13 years in prison, with an extended license period of four years following his release.
Additionally, he received an 18-month sentence for voyeurism and a 12-month sentence for breaching a suspended sentence order, with all sentences to be served concurrently.
As part of his punishment, Tsamo was also placed on the sex offenders register for life, reflecting the severity of his crimes and the impact on the victim and the community of Leamington.
