A man from Leamington has received a prison sentence exceeding ten years after being convicted of raping and sexually assaulting a woman.
The case was examined over a five-day trial at Warwick Crown Court, where it was presented that Alexander Jesus subjected the woman to multiple sexual assaults at her residence in March 2024.
Following a visit to the Sexual Abuse Referral Centre (SARC), the woman reported the incidents to police.
An extensive investigation led to the 23-year-old being charged with rape, sexual assault, and assault by penetration.
The defendant denied the allegations, claiming the victim had fabricated the story.
However, the jury unanimously found him guilty on all charges.
On Thursday, 7 May, he was sentenced at Coventry Crown Court.
He received a ten-year prison term, along with an additional four-year period of licence.
The judge identified him as a violent sexual offender and mandated that he register as a sex offender for life.
