TYLER LOCKHART SENTENCED IN PENRITH FOR SEXUAL HARM ORDER BREACHES

In a recent development at Carlisle Crown Court, Tyler Alan Lockhart, an 18-year-old man from Penrith, was sentenced to a term of 20 months in prison for violating the conditions of his sexual harm prevention order.

The court proceedings, held on October 15, revealed that Lockhart had committed multiple breaches of the strict restrictions imposed upon him due to his status as a registered sex offender.

Lockhart, who was previously residing at Princes Court in Penrith, was found to have contacted two girls, both aged 14, through social media platforms.

These actions directly contravened the terms of his order, which mandated that he must inform police about any mobile phones he used so that authorities could monitor his activities and mitigate the risk he posed to young girls.

Despite admitting guilt, Lockhart initially denied ownership of the mobile phone discovered at his residence, claiming it was not his.

However, subsequent investigations confirmed that he had used the device to target vulnerable minors, attempting to arrange meetups with them.

Detective Inspector Andy Teasdale emphasized the importance of strict compliance with such orders, stating, “The conditions of Lockhart’s sexual harm prevention order were clear.

The order stipulated that he had to notify police of any mobile phone that he used, so our officers could manage the risk he posed to young girls.” He further explained that Lockhart’s actions demonstrated a blatant disregard for the restrictions designed to protect minors and that his case exemplifies the proactive measures law enforcement takes against offenders who fail to adhere to legal restrictions.

Teasdale also highlighted that Lockhart’s status as a registered sex offender means his risk is carefully managed by experienced offender managers.

The recent breaches and subsequent sentencing underscore the ongoing efforts by authorities in Penrith and beyond to ensure public safety and uphold the integrity of the legal restrictions placed on individuals with a history of sexual offenses.
