PENRITH WOMAN ASSAULTED HER SISTER DURING FAMILY ROW
A WOMAN assaulted and injured her sister as she “snapped” during a domestic row.Jessica Davidson, aged 28, found herself in a court dock for the first time following an incident on October 1 last year.
George Shelley, prosecuting, told magistrates in Carlisle that there had been an argument about food being moved in the kitchen of a property in the Penrith area.
At one stage, Davidson had slammed down a plate in a table and charged towards her sister, swinging her arms.
“She (Davidson) grabbed her top and scratched her across her chest, causing the skin to break,” said Mr Shelley.
The sister had tried to grab Davidson’s arms in self-defence.
Davidson then stormed upstairs and threw a piece of fruit at her sibling, said the prosecutor.
Photographs of the sister’s injuries showed reddening and scratches to the left side of her chest.
Davidson, of Lowther Village, Lowther, near Penrith, admitted a charge of assault by beating.
Magistrates gave Davidson a six-month conditional discharge.
This means she faces no punishment unless she commits another offence during this period of time.
Davidson must also pay her sister £200 compensation.
