TONBRIDGE ABUSER VIOLENTLY ATTACKED PARTNER AND CONTROLLED HER BY THREATENING TO KILL HIMSELF IF SHE DIDN’T DO WHAT HE WANTED
Tommy Ward not only violently attacked his partner in her own home in Tonbridge, but also threatened to kill himself if she didn’t comply with his demands.
He punched her in the ear, headbutted her, dragged her around her home, and demanded her to go to bed.
During one outburst, he damaged her fridge, and on another occasion, he threatened to kill himself with a knife.
The woman described her life with Ward as "hell," noting that her anxiety worsened due to his actions.
Ward was found guilty of two counts of assault, criminal damage, and engaging in controlling or coercive behavior.
He was sentenced to 26 weeks in jail, suspended for 24 months, ordered to attend 27 rehabilitation sessions, pay £300 in trial costs, and was banned from contacting the woman for three years via a restraining order.
