DATE RAPIST JAILED
Adrian Richardson, formerly residing on Mersey Road in Tonbridge, has been sentenced to prison after being convicted of two sexual offenses committed in Ashford.The case was heard at Canterbury Crown Court.
Kent Police initiated their investigation in May 2023 after the victim reported her traumatic experience.
The incident began when Richardson and the woman connected online and agreed to meet face-to-face.
Although she made it clear that she did not want to engage in sexual activity, Richardson ignored her objections.
He subsequently sexually assaulted her and then raped her.
The woman managed to inform a trusted friend about the assault and later contacted the authorities to report the crimes.
Richardson, aged 46, was detained and charged on 18 April 2024 following an investigation.
Despite pleading not guilty, he was found guilty by a jury of rape and sexual assault.
On 19 February 2026, Richardson was sentenced to seven years in prison at Canterbury Crown Court.
He will also be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life due to notification obligations.
