SEX PREDATOR WHO MET TEENAGE BOY JAILED FOR SIX YEARS
A man who posed as a teenage boy to meet a young victim and abused him was sentenced after being caught by authorities.Titoo Tahir interacted with his victim via social media, claiming to be between 15 and 17 years old, before traveling by train to Strood station on September 11 to meet the boy.
At the meeting, Tahir, who was actually 38, took the boy to an abandoned warehouse where he sexually assaulted him and used threats to control his actions.
The next day, Tahir arranged for the boy to come back to the same place for additional abuse.
He also gave him money and told him to stay silent about what had happened.
The victim later disclosed the assault, leading police to investigate on September 16.
Officers quickly linked Tahir to the crimes.
It was found he was already in prison in the Metropolitan Police area for similar offenses.
Investigations including DNA tests, analysis of mobile phone data, and CCTV footage led to Tahir facing seven sexual offense charges, which included three charges related to encouraging a boy aged 13 to 15 to take part in sexual activities.
He admitted to all charges and was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on October 18.
Tahir, from London, received a sentence of six and a half years, with a four-year Licence upon release.
Previously, on October 15, Tahir received a four-year and one-month jail term for similar crimes in Bromley.
Both sentences will run at the same time.
He was also ordered to comply with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order indefinitely and to be on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
