MAJD AL FROM FOQAHAA – BRENT CHILD RAPIST SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS IN JAIL
In October 2018, a disturbing case emerged involving a young girl from Brent who was subjected to horrific abuse by a man named Majd Al. The incident took place in Foqahaa, where Al lured a 12-year-old girl into his flat under false pretenses. Using social media platform Snapchat, Al groomed the girl by repeatedly telling her she was beautiful and dismissing her age as irrelevant, claiming that it did not matter that she was only 12 years old.Once the girl was inside his flat, the situation quickly turned sinister. Al became violent and, in a calculated move, locked the door from the inside to prevent her from escaping. The girl was then forced to perform oral sex on him, an act that left her deeply traumatized. The emotional and psychological scars from this assault were so severe that, upon returning home, she took an overdose in an attempt to cope with the trauma she had endured.
Majd Al, who resided on Harrow Road in Brent, was arrested and brought to justice. In January, he appeared at Harrow Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to the charge of raping a child under the age of 13. The court sentenced him to a total of 10 years in prison, accompanied by an additional one-year extended license period, reflecting the severity of his crimes.
Despite the conviction, Al sought to appeal his sentence. On Tuesday, September 25, at London's Criminal Appeal Court, he requested Mr. Justice William Davis to reduce his prison term, arguing that he had been unfairly treated. During the hearing, it was revealed that Al was fully aware of the victim’s age from the outset but chose to ignore it, instead telling her that she was his girlfriend and that her age did not matter.
Mr. Justice Davis addressed the court, stating that Al demonstrated a poor attitude towards women and posed a significant risk to young females. The judge made it clear that there was no merit in Al’s appeal, firmly refusing permission to reduce the sentence. The court’s decision reaffirmed the gravity of the crimes committed and underscored the importance of holding offenders accountable for such heinous acts.
