WREXHAM MAN TIMOTHY FULLARD JAILED FOR GROOMING CHILD IN NORTHAMPTONSHIRE
In a disturbing case that highlights the dangers of online predators, Timothy Fullard, a 37-year-old man from Wrexham, has been sentenced to two years in prison after admitting to grooming a young girl from Northamptonshire.The incident came to light after the girl, who was only 12 years old at the time, was targeted through internet communications, with Fullard adopting the alias 'Dom' to establish contact.
According to court proceedings at Northampton Crown Court, Fullard used online messaging platforms to reach out to the girl at her home.
His approach was calculated and manipulative, aiming to exploit her innocence and trust.
The police were able to trace his digital footprint following concerns raised by the girl’s mother, who became increasingly worried about her daughter’s computer activity.
It was during this investigation that Fullard’s identity was uncovered.
Fullard, a married father of two, admitted to inciting the girl to engage in sexual activity.
He also confessed to arranging a sexual act with a minor and causing or inciting a female child under the age of 13 to participate in sexual activities.
As part of his sentence, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for the next ten years, a measure intended to monitor and prevent further offenses.
The court heard that Fullard’s address was previously listed as Bryn Y Ffynnon Road in Wrexham.
Prosecutor Tim Brown described the case as particularly troubling, emphasizing the calculated nature of Fullard’s actions.
He explained that Fullard maintained repeated contact with the girl over a period of four months, demonstrating a clear effort to evade detection and continue his grooming activities.
The court was told that Fullard also sent explicit text messages to the girl’s mobile phone, further evidence of his predatory behavior.
Judge Charles Wide QC sentenced Fullard, stating, “You knew perfectly well how old she was.
This was repeated contact over a space of four months showing some ingenuity to get round the possibility of this girl’s parents finding out what was going on.” The judge’s remarks underscored the malicious intent behind Fullard’s actions and his awareness of the harm he was causing.
Following the sentencing, the girl’s family issued a statement through the police, expressing relief that the offender had been caught and removed from society.
They also issued a warning to other parents about the dangers posed by online interactions.
“We are glad that this evil man has been caught and removed from society and from the chance of doing this to someone else,” the statement read.
The family emphasized the importance of vigilance and trusting parental instincts to protect children from online predators, acknowledging how difficult it can sometimes be to recognize the signs of grooming and exploitation.
