2018: DUDLEY MAN THOMAS VRY JAILED AFTER BREACHING ORDER TO FORGET HIS FORMER PARTNER

A DUDLEY man who continued to pester his former partner in breach of a court order despite starting a new relationship with another woman has been locked up for a year.

Judge John Wait told Thomas Vry, aged 25, it was clear he would not let his first love go adding: "You want to have your cake and eat it." Vry had been with his first partner for eight years and they had two children but after they split up he bombarded her with a string of text messages.

He was then convicted of harassment in September 2016 and barred from having any further contact with the woman, Joanne Barker, prosecuting, told Wolverhampton Crown Court.

But just nine days later he breached his restraining order by going to her home and making threats to her new partner.

Vry was arrested by police officers and once again granted bail but he then sent her more text messages and he even followed her, said Miss Barker.

He was then given a suspended prison sentence and a new restraining order was made against him but he breached that when he banged on her windows and issued further threats.

Miss Barker said he was then jailed but while on licence after his release he breached his restraining order on two further occasions as he warned his former partner: "Just watch what happens to you now." In a victim impact statement the woman told police "He has a new relationship and a new baby but he constantly harasses me.

I never phone or contact him.

I just want this to stop.

I just want the chance to get on with the rest of my life." Vry of Brook Street, admitted breaching his restraining order and he was told by the judge: "You constantly pester your former partner in a way that frightens her.

This has had an awful effect on her and your children." Anthony Bell, for Vry, maintained the offending had become less serious adding: "There is reason to hope that this sort of behaviour is coming to an end."
