WARRINGTON MAN JAILED FOR BRUTAL ATTACK ON SISTER
A man severely assaulted his sister during a drunken rampage, during which he punched her violently, strangled her, and inflicted two broken arms.Thomas Parker, aged 34 and from Warrington, carried out the attack in front of her distressed teenage son after consuming alcohol while watching football.
The injuries he caused were serious enough to necessitate surgery to realign her arm, which sustained permanent damage.
The court proceedings revealed that Parker, who struggled with alcohol dependence, began drinking on September 4, 2022, while watching a football match.
Around 8pm, he visited his sister’s home on Cairo Street, and they drank beer together until about 11pm.
Later, Parker told his sister he was heading into town but returned shortly after with two men, claiming he had met them outside.
At approximately 4am on September 5, she found him in the bathroom, where he was holding his head and expressing intentions to walk and fight with some acquaintances.
Her teenage son contacted their grandfather, who tried to intervene, but Parker did not calm down; instead, he continued his assault, holding the phone with one hand while hitting his sister with the other.
She was on the sofa, trying to shield herself with her arms, as Parker pressed down on her, preventing her movement.
She described experiencing the most intense pain in her left arm, realizing it was broken.
After leaving again for about 40 minutes, Parker returned and launched another attack, verbally abusing his sister and her 18-year-old son, before strangling, punching, and pinning his sister to the sofa once more.
The injuries included a broken arm that required surgical correction and resulted in lasting damage.
Parker admitted to charges of strangulation and causing grievous bodily harm.
He was sentenced to 33 months in prison for GBH and 18 months for strangulation, to run concurrently.
Additionally, a restraining order was issued to prevent him from approaching his sister.

Her teenage son called their grandfather, who tried to calm Parker, but he persisted in his violent behavior: holding the phone with one hand while repeatedly punching his sister with the other.
She was cowering on the couch, trying to cover her head, as Parker pressed down on her, pinning her in place.
She felt the worst pain she had ever experienced as she realized her arm was broken.
He then left for around 40 minutes before returning and continuing the attack, insulted both his sister and her adult son, and assaulted her further by strangulation, punching, and holding her down on the sofa.
The injuries included a permanently damaged arm that needed surgical repair.
Parker pleaded guilty to strangulation and grievous bodily harm and received a combined prison sentence of 51 months.
A restraining order was also issued to prevent him from approaching his sister.
