PREDATOR WHO SEXUALLY ASSAULTED A YOUNG GIRL HAS BEEN JAILED FOR OVER A DECADE
On 18 November 2024, Thomas Noone, born on 30 November 1990 and residing in Stretford, was sentenced at Minshull Street Crown Court to a term of 10 and a half years in prison.He was convicted of two counts of sexual assault by penetration involving a minor and one count of sexual assault against an adult.
A courageous victim of childhood sexual abuse assisted in securing his imprisonment after revealing offences that occurred when she was just 4-5- years of age.
The investigation was initiated in 2020 following a contact from the victim’s grandfather, who informed authorities in Lancashire about historic sexual abuse at an address in Greater Manchester in 2010.
Noone had a prior conviction for a similar offence in 2016, when he was found guilty of sexually assaulting a girl under 13 and was sentenced to three years in prison.
He was also placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
As the inquiry progressed, another woman came forward, confirming she had been sexually assaulted by Noone in 2014.
One of the victims in this case was motivated to report her experience after seeing a police press release about Noone.
She revealed that he had assaulted her sexually at a young age at a location in Greater Manchester.
During police interviews, Noone denied committing any sexual offences against the victims.
He maintained his innocence during the trial, pleading not guilty, but a jury ultimately found him guilty of the charges.
