DECLAN FLYNN-BARRETT SENTENCED FOR BRUTAL ATTACK IN STRETFORD

A serious assault case has culminated in the sentencing of a man responsible for a violent attack on a woman in Stretford. Declan Flynn-Barrett, aged 25, was found guilty of launching a sustained and vicious assault on his victim at a property in Stretford on April 17. The incident was characterized by extreme violence, with Flynn-Barrett kicking the woman in the stomach, repeatedly pulling her hair, and striking her during the attack. Despite her efforts to escape the assault, he continued his violent behavior outside the property, on the street, where he even attempted to assault her again. This brutal episode was witnessed by members of the public, who were shocked by the severity of the violence and promptly contacted the authorities to report the incident. The victim suffered multiple injuries, including cuts and bruises covering her body, highlighting the brutality of the attack. The police have publicly commended her bravery for coming forward and supporting the investigation, which was crucial in bringing Flynn-Barrett to justice. Flynn-Barrett, who resides on Elm Drive in Stretford, was brought before Manchester Crown Court, where he was sentenced to two years and three months in prison for the charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The sentencing took place following a hearing on Wednesday, August 28. PC Winder, a member of GMP's Domestic Abuse Team, expressed gratitude towards the victim and her family for their cooperation, emphasizing that Flynn-Barrett was a repeat offender who subjected his victim to multiple abusive acts. He described Flynn-Barrett as a dangerous individual who is now rightly behind bars, preventing him from causing further harm.
