Glasgow man pleads guilty to sending explicit messages to decoy posing as 13-year-old

GLASGOW MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO SENDING EXPLICIT MESSAGES TO DECOY POSING AS 13-YEAR-OLD

A pervert sent a naked picture of himself to a girl he believed was 13-years-old.Glasgow Sheriff Court heard that he was actually talking to an adult decoy posing as the teenager.

A member of a vigilante group created the decoy called 'Sophie'.The communication between McGhee and the decoy took place between October 3 and October 28, 2021, with a total of 2,500 text exchanges.

Prosecutor Emma Baker stated that 'McGhee told the decoy that she was underage and that she would get in trouble.'McGhee sent sexually explicit messages, including images of himself naked in a mirror and pictures of male and female genitalia, as well as a man wearing a bra.

He also expressed intentions to do sexual things to the decoy.The decoy passed McGhee's information to another vigilante group, which confronted him at his home.

The police were also called and he was subsequently arrested.He pleaded guilty on Friday to sending written sexual communications to an adult pretending to be a child.

Additionally, he admitted to sending an image to an adult pretending to be a child, attempting to cause a child to view a sexual image.

The court deferred sentencing pending background reports, and McGhee of the Sandyhills area of Glasgow was granted bail and put on the sex offenders register.
