AYR MAN THOMAS HAINEY SENTENCED TO EIGHT YEARS FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES IN EDINBURGH AND FIFE
Thomas Hainey, a man originally from Ayr, has been sentenced to a prison term of eight years after being found guilty of multiple serious sexual offences.The High Court in Edinburgh heard detailed and distressing testimonies from the survivors, revealing the extent of Hainey's brutal and calculated attacks over several years.
The court was informed that Hainey engaged in repeated acts of sexual violence against three women, including one particularly heinous incident where he forcibly raped a pregnant woman anally after she refused to engage in sexual activity with him.
Hainey's criminal activities extended beyond Ayr, as he traveled to Methil in Fife to carry out some of his depraved acts.
The court heard that he exploited the vulnerabilities of his victims, subjecting them to relentless abuse that has left lasting trauma.
