AYR MAN ACCUSED OF GREGGS SEXUAL ASSAULT EXPOSES GENITALS TO POLICE
A man is accused of sexually assaulting a woman inside a Greggs store, resisting arrest, and later exposing himself to police officers after removing his trousers.Kyle Young appeared before Ayr Sheriff Court from custody, facing charges that include grabbing a woman's breast during the incident.
The 35-year-old is alleged to have refused to provide his name, address, or date of birth to two officers at the Greggs outlet on Ayr's Allison Street on May 19 this year.
Prosecutors allege that he resisted, obstructed, or hindered the police officers by tensing his arms, pushing and pulling with his body, and refusing to support his weight to avoid arrest.
He is also accused of acting in a threatening or abusive manner, including shouting, swearing, making offensive comments, and issuing threats of violence.
The charges further claim he gestured threateningly, made sexual remarks, and spat multiple times inside a police vehicle.
Additionally, he faces a charge of intentionally exposing his genitals in a sexual manner to a police officer, intending for the officer to see them.
Court documents state that he removed his trousers and undergarments and repeatedly manipulated his genitals toward the officer while on bail, which had been granted on January 7 and March 16 at Ayr Sheriff Court.
Represented by defence solicitor Robert Logan, Young pleaded not guilty to the charges, and a trial date has been scheduled.
Bail was denied due to concerns about his likelihood to reoffend, the safety of the complainant, and public safety, as he is described as having no fixed residence but was previously from Catrine.
