On April 20, a man was sentenced to prison for engaging in controlling and coercive behavior, as well as for breaching sex offender regulations.
Thomas Davidson, aged 57 and without a fixed address, received a sentence of one year and nine months at Carlisle Crown Court.
The allegations pertain to a single woman.
The court was informed that Davidson prevented the woman from leaving the house alone, would drop her off and pick her up from her workplace, and was involved in buying and selling cars using her money and in her name, which violated his notification conditions.
After a tip-off, Davidson was detained and issued with conditions not to contact the victim.
Nonetheless, he continued to send her letters, rang her doorbell, and loitered near her property for prolonged periods.
