Investigations uncovered 1,219 images and videos depicting sexual activities involving animals, for which Charlton pleaded guilty.
His past offences include an 11-year sentence in 1992, a 15-month sentence in 2011 for breaching his court order by hiding the fact he fathered a child, and a two-year imprisonment in 2016 after he violated a court ban that restricted contact with children by visiting a woman with three young children and giving them presents.
During the recent court hearing, the defence explained that Charlton had pleaded guilty to the latest offence, acknowledging that this breach could result in a lengthy custodial sentence.
